A straight answer on every name
Expiring-domain auctions move fast and the lists are long. Tactical Names scores every name and calls the top ones Pass, Flip or Build, with what to bid and when to walk away.
Why it exists
GoDaddy publishes about a million expiring names a day. Most are noise, a few are worth money, and the auctions close whether or not you have finished reading. The usual tools hand you more columns. This desk hands you a call. It is built and run by Hey Genie LLC, a small company, by someone who bids in these auctions and wanted the answer before the clock ran out.
How the desk reads a name
Screen
Every name gets a score from 0 to 100 on its own merits: words, length, extension, how it sounds, plus the file's CPC, search volume and appraisal when present. Bids and price are never inputs. The score is the same for every user.
Check
Trademark against a famous-brand list, archived history, links and age, each against a named source with the time it ran. A check that did not run says so.
Call
Pass: the engine would not bid. Flip: buy to resell. Build: worth more as a product than as inventory. Each Flip or Build carries a suggested bid, a walk-away price, what investors and end buyers pay, and the reasons in plain language.
Learn
Watch names, log your bids, skip what is not for you, record what happened. Fit shows how a name matches your record. It never changes the score, and it never changes the call.
What you will not find here
- No made-up numbers. Every price, bid count and end time comes from GoDaddy's file or your own list and carries that file's time stamp. If data is missing, the desk says so instead of filling the gap.
- No market-price promises. Suggested bid and walk-away price are the engine's call from the facts and checks, labelled as such. What investors and end buyers pay shows its basis or is withheld.
- No hidden list. The whole file is scored and the whole scored list is shown. Calls cover the top names by score, and a name without one says why. A name that was not called is not a Pass.
- No advertising trackers. Sign-in is a link in your email. Cookies keep you signed in, remember a trial, measure the desk, and keep a private share link on the browser that created it. Page-view analytics, when on, are cookieless.
Who runs it
Hey Genie LLC, a United States company. Payments go through Stripe, the desk runs on Vercel, data lives in Supabase, calls are generated by Anthropic's models and email is sent through Resend; the privacy policy says what each one sees. Questions, corrections and disagreements with a call go to support@tacticalnames.com or the contact page.
The FAQ covers the common questions. To see the desk on your own names, try it on your list: one list a day, free, no account.
